SANTA CLARA — Here is how the 49ers (10-1) graded in Sunday night’s 37-8 rout of the Green Bay Packers (8-3):

PASS OFFENSE: A

Jimmy Garoppolo’s 145.8 passer rating is a career best, and it reflects just how well he understands Kyle Shanahan’s offense after two years. The return of George Kittle (six catches, six targets, 129 yards) brought predictable success, although a 61-yard touchdown reception was a pleasant surprise that’s been in the works at practice all season. Deebo Samuel’s 42-yard touchdown catch-and-run gets overlooked, as does Emmanuel Sanders’ one-catch cameo. The one concern led to a quick fix, as Daniel Brunskill relieved an overwhelmed Justin Skule, which could become a moot concern if Joe Staley returns in the next game or two.

RUN OFFENSE: A-

This 112-yard effort came as a much-needed revival, and all three running backs factored into the success. Tevin Coleman had the first-snap touchdown as part of an 11-carry, 39-yard night. Jeff Wilson Jr. went 25 yards on his first run before falling ill. And Raheem Mostert capped the offensive fireworks with a 15-yard touchdown run, and he averaged 7.5 yards per carry (six carries, 45 yards). Matt Breida’s ability to rest an ankle injury for a second straight game should reap dividends in the coming games as he’ll be up to full speed.

PASS DEFENSE: A+

Five sacks of Aaron Rodgers aren’t even the most impressive stat. Rather, Rodgers averaged 3.2 yards per attempt, his lowest mark in 15 years as a starter. Of course, it started up front, led by Arik Armstead’s two sacks that raised his team-high total to 10 this season. “He’s playing legitimate All-Pro football,” Richard Sherman said of Armstead. “… They said he’s at 10 sacks now, on a contract year? The Brinks truck is going to back up. Beep, beep.”

Nick Bosa’s sack snapped a three-game drought as he continued all-around excellence. Fred Warner’s strip-sack on the first series was the defensive play of the day. DeForest Buckner shared a sack, as did Jaquiski Tartt. In the secondary, Ahkello Witherspoon had his most extensive action and twice denied Davante Adams down the sideline, but the bigger star was Jimmie Ward and his pass break-up of a deep ball to Jimmy Graham.

RUN DEFENSE: A

Why were the 49ers so successful against Rodgers? Warner traced it to their run defense. “The biggest part in stopping (Rodgers) was stopping (No.) 33,” Warner said, referring to Aaron Jones. “We knew their run game would be a big part of it. If we stopped it on first and second down, and get them in third and long — which we did a lot this game — then we could let the big boys eat up front.” Warner had 11 tackles. Jones finished with 38 yards on 13 carries. Jamaal Williams, Warner’s former teammate at BYU, had 36 of his 45 yards after halftime. Nose tackle D.J. Jones was phenomenal with two tackles for loss.

SPECIAL TEAMS: A

Kicker Chase McLaughlin, filling in a third straight game for an improving Robbie Gould, made all three of his field-goal attempts. Both of the Packers punt returns went for negative yardage, after tackles by Mostert and Tarvarius Moore. Richie James remains sure-handed as the 49ers’ return specialist, and he had three punt returns with a long of 10 yards.

COACHING: A

Kyle Shanahan, defensive coordinator Robert Saleh and pass-game coordinator Mike LaFleur (who got the game ball) all thoroughly got the best of a Packers staff led by first-year coach Matt LaFleur, who said: “That’s a pretty darn good football team. I’m disappointed with myself, with how we got outcoached and how we got outplayed.” The 49ers’ confidence is where it should be entering a daunting, 10-day road trip for games at Baltimore and New Orleans.
